Stir Fry Pork with Honey and Sesame

  • 400 grams lean pork cut into stir fry strips
  • vegetable oil spray
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic crushed
  • 1 carrot washed, peeled and sliced
  • 2 cups green beans washed, tails trimmed and cut into 2cm pieces
  • 400 grams can baby corn drained
  • 1 red capsicum sliced
  • 3 shallots sliced
  • 2 bunches Asian greens washed, roughly chopped
  • 450 grams hokkein or egg noodles prepared as per packet instructions


  • 2 teaspoons cornflour
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons salt-reduced soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chilli sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ginger chopped finely


  1. Combine marinade ingredients in a shallow dish
  2. Add pork to marinade and mix to coat. Leave to marinate for 10 minutes
  3. Heat a non-stick wok and spray lightly with oil. Add marinated pork and cook, stirring, until pork is cooked through and beginning to brown. Transfer pork to a plate and set aside
  4. Reheat wok and saute onion and garlic for 2 minutes
  5. Add carrot, beans, baby corn, capsicum, shallots and asian greens. Saute for 4 minutes
  6. Add cooked noodles and cooked pork to pan and heat through. Serve immediately

Regular soy sauce was swapped for salt-reduced soy sauce

This recipe is much lower in oil than traditional stir-fry recipes
